My name is Maria Victória Luz, known as Mavi. I'm 22 years old and I have a bachelor's degree in Biotechnology from the University of Brasília, Brazil.
Throughout my education, I have dedicated myself to research, scientific dissemination, and entrepreneurship.
Hello, community!
My main goal is to become an expert in developing biotechnologies for recycling and to contribute to a circular economy, guaranteeing natural resources for future generations!
I realized that being in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment would be ideal. So, I applied for master's programs abroad, being awarded one of the most desired scholarships, Erasmus Mundus.
With your support, I will start in September the International MSc. in Sustainable and Innovative Natural Resource Management (SINReM), held in Belgium, Germany, and Sweden in some of the top 100 universities in the world.

I grew up in a very low-income household in the suburbs of the Federal District, which always valued education very much. So, even though I studied in public schools, I was already participating in initiatives such as Formancipa, which presented me with the possibility of study at the best universities in Brazil!
At the age of 16, I started my bachelor's in Biotechnology at the Federal University of Ceará and graduated at the University of Brasília as the Outstanding Student in my class.
During my time at the University, I made the most of every opportunity, winning several awards, and publishing papers and books. All this made me grow not only as a professional but also as a human being.
I also participated in extracurricular activities, such as national and international projects and events. My intention was to promote opportunities for low-income students and to bring more protagonism for women in science.
Due to education, I had several accomplishments that I thought were impossible, such as doing an exchange program in Peru and being one of the representatives of Brazil at the Unleash Global Innovation Lab, in India, for being considered a global talent for promoting sustainability.
Why crowdfunding?
Although the scholarship cover most of the costs, there are pre-depart expenses, such as documents, flights, visa, first rent, and more.
These expenses correspond to up to 60% of my family's annual income, as I am not able to cover them I decided to crowdfund!
